In recent decades, literature has become an important platform to express various social, political, and cultural conflicts. One of the central themes that has emerged is religious conflict, particularly in the context of modern and contemporary societies. This paper explores the portrayal of religious conflict in contemporary literature, focusing on the challenges faced by individuals, communities, and societies in navigating religious divides. The study analyzes the role of religion in shaping identity, conflict, and the search for meaning in literature, especially in the South Asian context, particularly in Pakistan. Through the works of Pakistani authors, this article delves into the tensions between traditional beliefs and modernity, the impact of religious extremism, and the search for harmony in a pluralistic society.
