PLAGIARISM POLICY

The Journal of Religious, Literature and Cultural Studies (JORLCS) maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and originality in all submitted and published work.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying text, ideas, images, or data from other sources without proper citation

  • Paraphrasing content from another work without appropriate acknowledgment

  • Submitting someone else's work as one’s own

  • Self-plagiarism (reusing one’s previously published work without disclosure)

Plagiarism Screening

All manuscripts submitted to JORLCS are screened for plagiarism using reliable anti-plagiarism software (e.g., Turnitin or similar). Manuscripts that show more than 15-20% similarity (excluding references, quotations, and methodological texts) are returned to the authors for revision or outright rejection.

Actions on Plagiarism Detection

  • If plagiarism is detected before publication, the manuscript will be rejected, and the author may be barred from future submissions.

  • If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article may be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued publicly.

  • The corresponding author is held responsible for ensuring all co-authors are aware of and comply with ethical standards.

Author Responsibility

Authors must ensure their work is entirely original and properly cite all sources. Submitting plagiarized content violates ethical publishing practices and will result in immediate action.

JORLCS aligns its policies with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and takes all instances of unethical conduct seriously.
