WITHDRAWAL POLICY
The Journal of Religious, Literature and Cultural Studies (JORLCS) discourages unethical or unjustified withdrawal of manuscripts after submission, as it wastes valuable editorial and reviewer resources. However, we recognize that valid reasons for withdrawal may occasionally arise. This policy outlines the acceptable conditions and process for withdrawal.
Before Peer Review
Authors may withdraw their manuscript before the peer review process begins by submitting a formal written request to the editorial office. No penalties or restrictions apply at this stage.
During Peer Review
If a manuscript is under active peer review, authors must clearly justify their withdrawal request in writing. Withdrawal will only be approved after editorial review of the reason. Repeated withdrawals during review may result in a temporary submission ban.
After Acceptance
Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication, withdrawal is strongly discouraged. If the authors still insist, the Article Processing Charges (APC), if paid, will not be refunded, and a formal notice of withdrawal may be published to maintain the journal's record integrity.
Unethical Withdrawal
Manuscripts withdrawn without notice or submitted to another journal while still under review at JORLCS will be treated as unethical behavior. The authors may be blacklisted and barred from submitting to the journal in the future.
Withdrawal by the Journal
JORLCS reserves the right to withdraw a manuscript at any stage if it is found to violate ethical standards (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication, or authorship disputes). In such cases, no refund of any fee will be issued, and further actions may be taken as per our Publication Ethics Policy.
