Abstract

This paper explores the complex relationship between women and cultural identity in Arab and Islamic societies, focusing on how traditions, language, dress, religious practices, and societal norms contribute to shaping a woman’s cultural self. It evaluates how cultural identity is preserved, challenged, or transformed through female participation in literature, education, and public discourse. The study also addresses the tension between globalization and local traditions, especially how modern women balance these dynamics while asserting their identity. The paper draws from historical sources, religious texts, and contemporary debates to present a nuanced understanding of women’s roles in preserving cultural heritage.
